The Prodigy @ House of Blues

Havi, Lindsay and myself saw The Prodigy in concert last night. First um..techno/dance/rock show I've been to. At the "new" House of Blues in Boston. Which used to be The Avalon, I couldn't figure out how it was different than the Avalon but it was. It's been a while since I've been to the Avalon though, I know the artwork is different.

As we're driving up to Newton to catch the green line into town we're behind a Rav 4 with a douchebag wearing white shades, but Havi says "at least he has Red Sox gear on, so he's only half douchebag". As we pass said douchebag I realize it's my old boss Ricky!

Then we're on the train which is a lot longer than I ever remember but I always know by the end I have to look for a bathroom like whoa cause of my giant road soda! If you don't get a seat at the first stop you're screwed because people jsut keep coming on, unless you're cool with the person standing next to you or don't mind the awkward stares from strangers..I'd rather get a seat an catch a random elbow or boob to the face! People watching is always the best though, everyone does that awkward blantant stare that they try to hide..why bother, we're all doin it!

I don't know what it is about being right outside Fenway too but the girls become that more attractive, something about Red Sox gear on women (pink or not I don't really care) makes them hotter in my book. I even saw someone that Havi may or may not have dated before! (totally did hah) Mike then got his sausege that he wanted probably since noon. We go inside an there are two DJs doin their thing as the place packs up. These two guys I'd have to look up who they are but they dressed as if you'd pass them by at the mall and just wonder where they got their shoes.
They played a lot of tracks you'd hear on a "Paul Oakenfold" Pandora station and I only recognized one Chimical Brother's song that they mixed. We had a waitress in our section which was pretty sweet, I didn't even have to stand up to get my $6 Miller Lite can! (cheaper then Fenway) By the time The Prodigy comes on I'm a little silly and got tired of sittin on the third floor balcony. The audience form up there though resembles that awkward dance scene from the Matrix movie though, music happens an the crowd moves as one organism. Got to hand it to the crowd for that, everyone was into it, not just one or two sections but the entire building was moving. Strobe lights, glow sticks, kids on acid (or somethin) falling over or standing still. I hope they enjoyed it though..I don't understand what they were doing actually but that's their deal.

This seriously looks like my point of view for this song, the lights were that nuts, the crowd was that blurry, the band was that intense. If you could only smell the body odor and feel sweaty bodies against you it would be exact. They played all your faves like "firestarter" or "smack my bitch up" and a ton off their new album Invaders Must Die.

The train ride home was even worse cause now we had awkward drunk people watching, crowded drunk people, drunk conversations etc. Luckily we get off at the second to last stop, hah. I didn't lose my cell phone though, I still have my shitty 6 year old cell phone that I turned on last week. So the show was awesome, Boston is always a good time and I'd love to see them again (maybe on a weekend, I feel as if the show was shorter than usual because of that)
